Class Policies
Attendance:
Consistent attendance is important to a students’ growth as well as to the curriculum of the entire class. Please call studio to inform of absence. Classes begin on time with all students ready to dance.
Recital:
Dancers must participate in Winter & Spring sessions to participate in the end of the year recital.
Late Arrival:
If a student is more than 10 minutes late to a class, he/she may not participate in the remainder of that class, but is welcome into the class to observe. This is not meant as a punishment, but is to ensure the safety of all the dancers. When a student is late, crucial warm-up is missed that gets the body warm and aims to prevent injury.
Make Up Classes:
Absences due to illness or family emergency may be made up during the current term. Please ask your current instructor if you would like a recommendation for an appropriate class. Please notify Studio 18 in advance if you plan on attending a make-up class.
Weather Closure Policy :
If area schools are closed for weather related problems, Studio 18 will be closed. In the case of severe weather, we will send an e-mail and change our voicemail. We will also post to our Facebook and Instagram pages. Students will be able to make up a class missed for severe weather at another time. Please speak to your instructor for a recommendation for an appropriate class. We do not offer credit or refunds for missed classes due to severe weather.
Staffing:
Studio 18 reserves the right to substitute qualified staff whenever necessary to ensure the success of each class. Refunds are not granted for staffing changes.
Late Pick Up Policy:
Studio 18 will charge one dollar per minute after the studio closes to wait with your student.
